Are you a teacher, or do you know a great teacher? (Um, who doesn’t?) Here’s a simple way to encourage kindness and confidence in their classrooms: download these free printable classroom posters Hallmark artist Lynn Guinta created especially for teachers.
Lynn has a big heart, and big goal: building positivity and spreading kindness. And helping teachers! Many of her Instagram followers are educators, so she created these free printable classroom posters just for them.
“I was at a community event creating positive word collages,” Lynn says. “The teachers were so enthusiastic about them, that it motivated me to help keep their environments positive and inspiring.”
Lynn loves working with words and color. To create these free downloadable classroom posters, she used a collage technique with cut paper. She has even made us this printable cut paper alphabet for your own handmade posters.
To begin, she sketches a loose design, chooses a color palette and gathers up her papers and scissors.
Next comes the fun part—arranging the pieces on the poster. “The magic of collage is that you have to be willing to be spontaneous and go with what happens as you cut out shapes,” Lynn says.
After she’s satisfied with her collage design, Lynn uses markers and brushes to add details. “I often pick up the leftover scraps and end up making those part of my designs too,” she says, “Sometimes the scraps will be the best part of my finished piece.”
Then she glues everything down and scans it to make a digital copy.
Lynn also created DIY templates for papel picado, so you can make your own banners for Day of the Dead.
